Greenham - Nurturing Nature Project (2024-)
Inspired by the Berkshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy, we are beginning a new project in 2024 to continue our tree and bulb planting in a way that links with previous plantings and with existing green spaces. This follows on from our successful ‘The Streets Where We Live’ and ‘Our Local Environment’ projects, in which we have planted more than 80 trees and thousands of bulbs over the last three years. The planned locations for new trees and bulbs will open-up further corridors for wildlife. As well as contributing to local nature recovery, this project will have a beneficial effect in the local community. This project will be enacted through our monthly work parties, which are a new initiative first begun in 2024.
